Resize My Photo is a client-side image processing tool for Indian competitive exam aspirants. It runs entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API — no server uploads, no account required. Simply drag your photo, select your exam preset, adjust settings, and download the perfectly compressed and resized image.

Resize My Photo uses a binary search algorithm on the JPEG quality parameter (0–100%) to hit your exact target file size. It runs up to 30 iterations, each time adjusting the quality up or down until the output file size falls within your specified min–max KB range. This guarantees you hit portal requirements without unnecessarily degrading image quality.

Go to the Editor, upload your photo, and set the Max KB field to the portal's maximum (e.g., 50 KB for SSC). Click Process & Download — Resize My Photo will compress it to fit. Also ensure the pixel dimensions match (set Width and Height or use an exam preset that auto-fills them).

Resize My Photo accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC (Apple iPhone photos) as input. Output can be exported as JPG or PNG. Note: HEIC support depends on your browser — Safari on macOS/iOS handles it natively. On other browsers, use a HEIC-to-JPG converter first if you face issues.

Almost all Indian exam portals (NTA, SSC, RRB) require JPG/JPEG format. PNG is only needed for documents that require transparency (rare). Resize My Photo defaults to JPG for all exam presets. PNG files are typically 3–5× larger, making it harder to hit the KB target.

Currently Resize My Photo supports: JEE Main/Advanced (NTA), NEET UG (NTA), CAT (IIM), SSC CGL/CHSL, and Railway RRB/NTPC. Each preset auto-fills pixel dimensions, file size range, format, and background color. More exams (UPSC, GATE, CLAT) are planned.

Portal requirements can change between exam cycles. Always double-check the official notification for the current year's specifications. Common reasons for rejection:

• Photo not recent (must be within the last 6 months)
• Face not centered or too small/large in frame
• Background not plain white (glare, shadows count)
• Non-formal attire or accessories like caps/sunglasses
